Dr Susanna Mantovani

PhD, MSci, BSci (Hons)

Susanna is a Project Administrator at Clinical Network Services (CNS) Pty Ltd and serves as a molecular biologist of the CNS Institute Biosafety Committee. Susanna holds a PhD in Physiology, and a master degree in the field of Biomedical Research from the University of Milan, She is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Trial Research at the University of Sydney. She also has a Certificate IV in Health and Safety, an in depth understanding of the Australian Healthcare System, and she is a certified phlebotomist. Susanna has worked in preclinical research during her PhD and part of her postdoctoral training at the University of Queensland. She gained clinical research experience during the second stage of her postdoctoral training, coordinating human studies, and managing sample repository. In 2017, she became a Group leader at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research, leading observational clinical studies in the field of neurodegeneration. She was awarded Researcher of the year (2015) and Emerging leader in neuroscience (2017) by Wesley Medical Research. Susanna has published 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals including Human Molecular Genetics, Science Translational Medicine, Neuron, and PNAS, with more than 250 citations. She currently holds an honorary position at the University of Queensland Institute for Social Science Research and is a member on the Huntington’s Queensland board of directors.
