Dr Caroline Dobbin

Caroline is a Senior Consultant and Medical Writer for BioDesk at Clinical Network Services (CNS) Pty Ltd and serves as a member of the CNS Pty Ltd Institute BioSafety Committee (IBC) where she provides microbiology expertise on the review panel.

With extensive experience in drug development, gaining over 15 years' in the Australian and US biopharmaceutical sectors, Caroline has managed preclinical programs and provided project management, medical writing, and scientific support for multiple early phase clinical studies across a broad range of therapeutic areas, with a special interest in infectious disease.  Her experience has included interactions with US and Australian regulatory authorities and production of regulatory submissions and the authoring of clinical protocols, Investigator’s Brochures and Clinical Study Reports in accordance with ICH guidelines.  She has participated in inspections from regulatory agencies (TGA) and oversight committees (Office of Gene Technology Regulator [OGTR]). 

Caroline holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) in parasitology from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), where her research thesis considered virulence determinants in Toxoplasma gondii.  She also has a Bachelor of Science (Honours Class 1) majoring in parasitology from the University of Queensland (UQ).

Caroline joins CNS from the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute where she held the position of Clinical Trials Project Manager and Medical Writer in the Clinical Tropical Medicine Laboratory with a primary focus on malaria human challenge and transmission blocking clinical studies.
